September 2003 – First Liturgy
Celebrated by Fr. Youhanna R.A. Ibrahim of Archangel Michael Church in Irvine, CA

September 5th 2004 – H.H. Pope Shenouda III’s 1st Visit & Fr. Youhanna Ragheb Arrives

December 2008 – First Sunday Liturgy prayed in our New Church
After 5 years of shuffling between different locations, the congregation of St. Mary & St. John Church of San Ramon bought Pleasanton Presbyterian church at 4300 Mirador Drive. The first Sunday Liturgy was celebrated with H.G. Bishop Macarious, H.G. Bishop Athanasius, Fr. Youhanna Ragheb, and congregation members from all over Northern California. Following the liturgy, the church held a banquet in the Hilton hotel in Dublin.

February 2nd, 2008 – H.H. Pope Shenouda III 2nd visit and consecrates our New Church
H.H. Pope Shenouda III consecrated the altar and icons of St. Mary & St. John Church along with H.G. Bishop Youannis, H.G. Bishop Botros, H.G. Bishop Athanasius of Beni Mazar, H.G. Bishop Serapion of Southern California, all the Northern California clergy, and over 10 priests and monks from the Diocese of Los Angeles. After the consecration, the liturgy was celebrated, concluding one of the most joyous events in the history of the church.

September 2011 – Hegomen Fr. Antonios Baky begins his service in St. John’s

January 11th, 2011 – Receiving and Annointing the Relics of St. John the Beloved
On Tuesday, January 11th, the relics of St. John the beloved, St. Abanoub, St. George, and the Martyrs of Ekhmim were annointed and placed in St. John’s Church in Pleasanton by H.G. Bishop Rafael, Fr, Youhanna Nassif, and the NorCal Priests. In celebration, the choir performed, HG Bishop Rafael gave a sermon to the congregation, followed by an aghape meal.

May 18th 2011 – Hegomen Fr. Antonios returns from Egypt to stay as our priest
After months of waiting amidst so much uncertainty and concern about the Christian persecution and National Revolution, the congregation was relieved and excited for Fr. Antonios to return from Egypt to stay and lead the church to a bright future.

Summer 2014 – Sunday school building renovated

October 2015 – Church renovations including the iconostasis and icons

October 11th, 2015 – HH Pope Tawadros II visits our church
